Marrakech Desert Tours Built Around You

Every Marrakech desert tour we design starts with one question: what does your perfect Sahara experience look like ? Our Berber-born team pairs must see landmarks, the kasbahs of Aït Ben Haddou, the gorges of Todra, the rose-scented Dadès Valley with off-road detours, family run guesthouses and stories no guidebook tells.

Choose a short desert getaway for a first taste of the dunes, a multi-day desert crossing to reach the towering Saharan sands, or a fully custom itinerary at your own pace. Every trip includes a private 4×4 with A/C, hand-picked riad stays, a sunset camel trek and a starlit night in a traditional Berber camp.

Everything you need to know before booking your Marrakech desert tour

We specialize in Sahara desert tours from Marrakech, including 2-day trips to Zagora, 3-day tours to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes, and 4-day extended desert experiences. We also offer day trips to Ouarzazate, Aït Ben Haddou, Ourika Valley, and the Atlas Mountains, plus multi-day Morocco packages covering Fes, Chefchaouen, and Essaouira.

Merzouga (3 or 4 days) is the best choice for the iconic Sahara experience: giant golden dunes of Erg Chebbi reaching 150 meters, camel trek at sunset, and overnight in a luxury Berber camp. Zagora (2 days) is a faster alternative with smaller dunes, ideal for travelers with limited time. Most of our clients choose the 3-day Merzouga tour for the full desert magic.

The best time for Sahara desert tours from Marrakech is from March to May and September to November, when daytime temperatures are pleasant (20-28°C) and nights are cool but comfortable. Summer (June-August) can reach 45°C in the desert, while winter offers cold desert nights but stunning clear skies. We operate tours year-round with adjusted itineraries.

We recommend at least 5 to 7 days: 2 days exploring Marrakech (Medina, Jemaa el-Fna, Majorelle Garden), 3 days for the Merzouga desert tour, and 1-2 extra days for Essaouira or the Atlas Mountains. For a complete Morocco experience with Fes and Chefchaouen, 10 to 14 days is ideal.

For a desert tour from Marrakech, pack: comfortable walking shoes, a warm jacket (desert nights are cold, even in summer), sunglasses, a hat or scarf for sand protection, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, a small backpack for the camel trek, and a camera. In winter, add thermal layers. We provide blankets in the Berber camp but bringing your own scarf is recommended.

Travelers from the EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and 70+ other countries can enter Morocco visa-free for stays up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) handles most international arrivals. We recommend checking the latest requirements with the Moroccan consulate before booking your tour.
